News in Brief Regarding No. 85 [2021] of the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC)

The Port Administration Department of the State Office of GACC issued a notice on August 20, 2021, further deepening the reform of cross-border trade facilitation and optimizing the business environment at ports – No. 85 [2021]. This notice laid out specific requirements for the facilitation of cross-border trade.

GACC evaluated this document in-depth in conjunction with the above-mentioned related departments. These measures mainly include 27 specific contents in five aspects and put forward new requirements for refining policy. The highlights of the main contents are summarized as follows:

  2. CLARIFY AND STANDARDIZE FEES AND FURTHER REDUCE IMPORT AND EXPORT COSTS.
  3. STRENGTHEN TECHNOLOGICAL EMPOWERMENT AND FURTHER ENHANCE THE COMPREHENSIVE SERVICE CAPABILITIES OF PORTS.
  4. EFFICIENTLY BENEFIT ENTERPRISES AND PEOPLE AND FURTHER IMPROVE THE OVERALL SERVICE ENVIRONMENT FOR CROSS-BORDER TRADE.
