The State Council of the People's Republic of China promulgated the "Regulations on the Supervision and Administration of Cosmetics" on the 29th. The regulations will come into effect on January 1 2021

According to the State Council Order No. 727 signed by the Premier Keqiang Li on June 16, 2020, the Regulations on the Supervision and Administration of Cosmetics have been adopted by the 77th Executive Meeting of the State Council on January 3rd 2020. It will take effect on January 1st 2021. 

The “Cosmetics Hygiene Supervision Regulations” was issued in 1989 and became effective in 1990. 

In June 2015, the former General Administration of Food and Drug Administration submitted the “Regulations on Cosmetics Supervision and Administration (Revision Draft for Review)” to the State Council. 

In June 2015, the former Food and Drug Administration submitted the “Regulations on the Supervision and Administration of Cosmetics” to the State Council (Revision Supervision Draft). 

It was reviewed and approved by the State Council Executive Meeting on January 3rd 2020.
