NHC issued 38 National Food Safety Standards and 4 Amendments

On October 13th, the National Health Commission and the State Administration for Market Regulation jointly issued a notice on 38 National Food safety Standards and 4 amendments. The 42 standards include 22 quality specifications and standards for food additives (including 4 modified revision), 9 quality specifications and standards of food nutrition fortifier, 8 test method standards and “National Food Safety Standard – Cold Chain Logistics Hygiene Specification ” (GB 31605-2020).

The “National Food Safety Standard – Cold Chain Logistics Hygiene Specification” is based on the current situation of China’s cold chain logistics industry, with the purpose of ensuring food safety, referring to relevant domestic and foreign laws and regulations, and stipulates in the cold chain logistics process, the basic requirements, handover, transportation and distribution, storage, personnel and management systems, traceability and recall, document management and other requirements and management guidelines are applicable to logistics that require climate control process after the food products left the factory and before sales.
