GACC: The latest list of imported products from countries and regions prohibited from epidemic areas (updated on December 25th, 2020)

On December 25th, 2020, the China General Administration of Customs updated the “List of Prohibited Animals and Products to Import from Countries and Regions Where Animal Diseases Are Endemic”.
The following products from the United States and Canada were listed as well as their linked endemic animal disease:

Bovine spongiform encephalopathy (Mad Cow Disease) | Cattle and related products (from 6/29/2006, the import of deboned beef from cattle under 30 months of age in the U.S. will be resumed. On 2/ 19/2020, the month age limit on imported U.S. beef and beef products will be lifted as well as restrictions on U.S. pet foods containing ruminant ingredients | |
Rabbit hemorrhagic disease | Rabbit and its products (only limit to State of New York, Iowa, Utah, Illinois) | |
Scrapie | Sheep, sheep embryos, sheep semen, sheep haslet (including casings) and their products, meat and bone meal, bone meal, sheep fat and animal feed containing sheep protein | |
